Epicure Alternatives: Find Your New Favourite Spice Blends at From Lex’s Pantry

Alexandra Clark

Epicure is Gone—Now What?

Like many of you, I was saddened to hear about Epicure closing its doors. As someone who grew up in the Canadian food scene and has spent decades crafting spice blends, I understand how much we rely on those familiar flavours in our kitchens. I've put together some suggestions to cover your bases and hope you find some new favorites here!

At From Lex's Pantry, we pour our heart, soul, and a boatload of spices into every small-batch blend. You might find something you love just as much (or even more)! While we don’t promise identical replacements for Epicure’s blends, we have fantastic options to replace many of your favorites. All of our blends are gluten-free, vegan, dairy-free, and preservative-free.

Hi L,
we have some blends that could be comparable to the Epicure Brushchetta. Based on my research, their product has garlic, basil, tomato and parsley. We don’t have tomato in any of our blends but you could check out our Pizza spice which is great with tomatoes fresh or cooked, and our Preston Italian (which is salt & sugar free) to see if they would suite your needs.

Do you have a comparable product to Epicure Brushchetta

Hi Maryse,
That ground beef trick is clever — crispy edges and juicy centres are exactly what a great burger needs! While I don’t offer a veggie burger blend per se, my Bay Burger Blend is a fan favourite for both veggie and beef burgers. It delivers those crispy edges, juicy centres, and plenty of flavour.

I don’t do “dupes” — everything in the Pantry is an original recipe I’ve developed and refined over decades of cooking. If you’re curious about other blends that shine in burgers (plant-based or otherwise), just say the word. I’m always happy to share ideas — and I just posted a breakdown of our blends matched with different burger patties (beef, seafood, veggie, even breakfast!) over on Instagram: @FromLexsPantry.

If you give Bay Burger a try in your mix, I’d love to hear how it stacks up to your favourites!

Hi! Any dupe for the veggie burger mix? I love it mixed with ground beef, makes it extra crispy yet Juicy!

Hi Pat,
as far as I can tell, we don’t have a 3 Onion Dip Mix equivalent.
Though I’ve had a LOT of requests for one. (Including from my niece who has pushed me to find a solution for her faster!)
I have been playing with an onion/french onion/ roasted onion blend for about 3 years because people have been asking for one, even before the Epicure closure.
Once I get it right, I’ll let people know. Though since I’ve never tried the Epicure products, I don’t know how close it will be to the product you are looking for.

Thanks for asking
