Already a best-seller, our Montreal Red Chicken Rub is a gently warm and complex rub for all forms of chicken.
Inspired by nights on rue St. Denis in Montreal where we tried almost every chicken joint we could (sometimes more than one if it was a late night), Lex developed this chicken rub because we simply couldn't get those wonderful flavours out of our minds.
Mixed with a little olive oil or used as a dry rub, Montreal Red is perfect for barbecue night. Though, don’t hesitate to use it as a rimmer on your Caesar too.

We are working diligently to share all the ways we use it at home ourselves in our recipe section, but here are a few to get you started:

It’s not just for wings! I love Montreal Red added to the sauce stage of a simple box of mac and cheese. In today’s variation, I added 1 teaspoon of Montreal Red, a good handful of grated medium cheddar cheese and finished with fresh chives from the garden. It’s so easy to take mac and cheese from meh to wow!
ooo, Leona, that sounds like it would be fantastic, with the hint of smoke & heat with the cheddar. Yum!
I'm going to have to do a Mac & Cheese & Spice round up with all these great additions.
Thanks for taking the time to share this great idea and the photo!

The first time I tried this blend my mouth started WATERING! Montreal Red is 12/10! So delicious + versatile. I love it on grilled chicken and vegetables! I make a market dip with this spice blend (thanks to your awesome recipe section on this website) and use it as a dip and spread throughout the week.

Spice Storage
Spices, rubs and spice blends, should be stored in a dry, cool, dark place and used quickly to get the most flavour from them.
Ground spices typically lose their freshness and are often past their peak in 6 months.
